roses really don't smell like boo boo boo.

I'm sorry for letting all of you down. Because I know sooo many of you read my blog. ha. Yeah. Right. But Anatomy and Physiology is really time consuming. So much that I can't even sleep without dreaming about it. Not much has happened lately. Just summer school. A little sleep. And a lot of food. Story of my life. But I always save room for Katie. And a little bit of room for Jimi. And an episode of Prison Break or Bones every now and then. The other day, Katie's attractiveness damaged the overhang of the apartment complex. Here's the story. Katie went outside to take Jimi to the bathroom. Some guy's head turns. He was moving in and he was supposed to be dirving his moving truck. Instead he was looking at Katie. He backed the truck into the overhang and smashed it all the way through. I should've taken a picture. It looks bad. I think Katie had a hard time trying not to laugh. She was probably wearing some short shorts or something so I don't blame the guy. Katie has some beautiful legs. But he paid a pretty big price when he looked over at them. Just sayin. Today, I fell asleep in the park under a tree. The grass and the breeze felt nice. I felt like everyone was judging me though. Rolling up to the park by myself and falling asleep in the grass. They looked at me like I didn't have a home or something. But I was inbetween shifts and didn't want to drive home and then have to drive back in an hour. Yesterday Katie and I got snow cones. We ate them under a tree in ninety five degree weather. They were so good. I've been under a lot of trees lately. Trying to stay away from this hot sun. I can't imagine how bad it is in Louisiana with that humidity. Don't really want to. It's bad enough here. I took Jimi for a walk today and he just gave up on me a little over halfway through. I had to pretty much drag the guy back. He doesn't do well in the heat. Katie keeps him spoiled. Which is good. I guess. Last night, it was like ninety two degrees at midnight. Really? The later it gets, the hotter it gets. But tonight, it was weird. Driving home. It was really windy. About eighty degrees. And there were big dust devils all over the roads. And lightning. Lighting everywhere. But no rain. It felt really nice. Like something out of a fiction book. I had my windows rolled down until one of those dust devils blew threw my window and got a bunch of dust in my eyes.

p.s. I forgot to mention Katie and I's trip to the..rose garden. The plan was to go to this thing called movie under the stars. It's basically a big movie screen in the park and you lay a blanket down and do your thing. Wathing the movie that is. So Katie and I went to get slurpees and headed to the park. Katie has had this thing planned for like two weeks. So we get to the park and follow the people, hoping to find our destination. And everyone at the park is in the rose garden, just..looking at the roses. So I get out my phone and Katie looks up the Boise city website and we find out, once again, that Katie messed up the date. Yep, she's done it before. So we looked at the roses. Katie made fun of me because I like to sniff the roses. And I decided that, back in the day, perfume scents came from different types of roses. I may be wrong, but I doubt it. Because every rose smelled like grandma's house. Not just my grandma's. But other people's grandma's. I could picture a different grandma's house for every rose I sniffed. Anyways, Katie was on a mission to find a primrose. She swore every rose was a primrose, but of course, none of them were. So we just ended up playing in the park. By the river that runs through it.

Warning: Because I like Katie, I take a lot of pictures of her.

Day 57 - Happiest Time of the Year.

Day 57 - A picture of your favorite holiday.

I think Katie and I would both have to agree that Christmas is our favorite holiday and favorite time of the year at that. A day to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ. A day to commemorate His birth. We would also both have to agree that the best part of Christmas is giving. The feeling that you get when you're helping another person by giving, whoever or whatever it may be, is overwhelming. When you give of yourself without expecting anything in return, you expand in your ability to love. A pure love. The kind of love that comes from Christ. In our society, most people believe that if you give, then you have less. But really, when you give, you always receive. Givers are happier people. Do you remember the feeling of happiness you experienced the last time you gave something to someone else? Maybe it was your service. Maybe even just a small act of kindness. We are more important than we sometimes realize. We can make a difference.

A woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry and the woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the woman.
"I've been thinking" he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I will give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone."

One love. One people. Practice random kindness.

the hunger games.

"The eternal struggle" has made me procrastinate my blog posting.

And when summer school starts next Monday, I don't know how much time I will have to write. With work, Anatomy, and Physiology demanding so much of it. A little while back, I finished the first two books in The Hunger Games Trilogy, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I just recently started on the first few chapters of Mockingjay. Suzanne Collins is a brilliant writer. Inspiring really. If only I could write so effortlessly. She has done what so many other author's couldn't do, helped me to love reading. I must have been reading some crappy books. I guess that's why I registered for a Good Reads account. No more reading crappy books for me. I love to write, but I never really loved to read..outside of Morris the Moose, The Giving Tree, and the Dr. Suess books. The Curious George books and Where The Wild Things Are didn't take much reading. Then again, neither did the others. I blame all of the books that I've read. The books that just..weren't that good. Katie helped me too. In reading. She reads and she's so cute when she reads and I..am left out if I don't.

Hopefully all of this new reading will make me a better writer. Maybe it will make me crazy. I think most author's are. They come up with entirely new worlds and bring non-existent characters to life with just a few words. Maybe I want to be crazy too. The good kind of crazy. But only enough to publish a best seller. I'm starting to think I already am anyway. I'm a little obsessed with The Hunger Games books. And it all came from the mind of Suzanne Collins. That amazes me. She's pretty old and wise though. Makes me think I still have plenty of time. But the kid that wrote the Eragon books (Inheritance Cycle) was only nineteen when his first book, Eragon, was published. Shout out to Christopher Paolini. The guy is a genius. I'm sure an idea will come when the time is right. Back to The Hunger GamesKatie says Peeta reminds her of me, which is a huge compliment. Nicest guy in the world. And he's an artist.

I love the guy myself. But my favorite character is Katniss..and Mags. I like Mags too. She makes me laugh. An eighty year old lady that shows up just briefly in the second book. You should read the books. Just come yell at me if you hate them or I talked them up too much for you to enjoy them. But if you like them..a hug or something would be greatly appreciated. You might want to read them before the first movie comes out. It's being filmed right now. Jennifer Lawrence will be playing Katniss Everdeen. I'm pret-ty stoked about it. But I'm not pretty stoked about Lenny Kravitz playing Cinna. That's just..stupid.

I should go to bed. I need to pick up my small paycheck in the morning so we can go see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides..or X-Men: First Class. They will both be seen..eventually.
