Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.
This should be easy, right? The problem is, I've never really thought that far into the future. I like to live in the moment rather than running all the "what ifs" and "maybes" through my head. I think of things I want to do occasionally, but I try to take each day as it comes. Katie is the complete opposite. If she could, she would have our entire lives planned out by now which I'm grateful for. She keeps me organized and I keep her from going crazy when everything doesn't work out according to plans. Katie gave me a list of things she wants to do before she dies. On the top of that list is something that I never would have thought of. Something that I don't know if I would want to do. To be honest, it kind of creeps me out a little bit. She wants to swim with a whale shark. They don't have teeth but have you seen the size of those things?
Before I die, I want to own an island retreat..with Katie, of course.
Maybe a bungalow in Tahiti, right on the ocean..
..or maybe a vacation house in New Zealand to get away on the weekends.
It sounds like a noble way to relax. And after living in New Zealand for two years, I have an unexplainable love for the islands. No stress. No worries. Always sunny. Find your food on the trees and in the ocean. Just enjoy life.
We're still pretty young. We plan on doing a lot of things before we die. I just want to do what I can. Whatever I can. Everything I can. And then be content with whatever it is that is happening, knowing that whatever it is, it is in God's hands.
