Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you.
My scriptures. My patriarchal blessing. My New Zealand flag. That's right, mates. And just to be clear, it's not the same as the Australian flag. The Australian flag's Southern Cross has white stars that look like white spiky balls along with the two stars that point to the Southern Cross. The New Zealand flag has white-outlined red stars that actually look like stars and the kiwi's felt the two stars that point to the Southern Cross weren't necessary. I'm sorry, my Australian friends. I still love you, but New Zealand has a cooler flag. Enough about looks. The New Zealand flag means a lot to me, because it represents the country and the people that I grew to love over the two years I lived there. I miss those people so much. The New Zealand flag represents the time in my life when I grew closer to my Heavenly Father than I have ever been, because I needed His help as I served only Him. It represents a time when I didn't need money..just faith. A matter of fact, money rarely even crossed my mind. I had been gone for a long time and had experienced some deeply moving spiritual and emotional moments. Those experiences have made me who I am today. When I returned to America, I was different. I really knew the gospel was true now, and I wanted everyone to know how important it was..and still do. To some, the New Zealand flag may only mean Lord of the Rings or Xena: Warrior Princess, but to me, it means everything.
Our dog, Jimi, isn't really a thing, but he means a lot to Katie. A lot. Jimi is the most spoiled dog ever..by Katie, of course. But he really makes Katie happy. I know I do too, but I guess Jimi is just closer to a thing than I am. When Katie is feeling down, Jimi cheers her up. He's better at it than even I am. I tried to get him to teach me how he does it, but he just licked my face. Katie says he only speaks Spanish anyway. I wouldn't know, I basically slept through both of my Spanish classes in high school.
Well of course Jimi makes Katie happy. How can a dog that fashionable NOT make you happy?? If his little coat doesn't make you smile, you must not have a soul.
ReplyDeletehaha. If his little coat doesn't make you smile, his little high five better..or you're definitely soulless like Michael's band.
