Day 33 - Growing Up.

Day 33 - A picture of the house you grew up in.

Allo, this is your mate Gabe again. Today, I'm going to tell you a little about where I grew up. And it is interesting, believe me. See the little guy in the tree house? That's me..with my little sister. My dad built the tree house for us. And it was awesome! You see that big house behind us? Yeah, that's not the house I grew up in. I grew up in that little trailer way in the back of the photo. My dad was building the big house in front of it until a tornado destroyed our little trailer. We never actually got to live in that big house and we had to leave the little trailer. It was shaking..a lot. And the tornado was on it's way. I remember the shaking as my mama stumbled down the hallway to take my little broseph out from his cradle. When she picked him up, the glass shattered. I still remember the heavy rain drops as my dad opened the door and told us to run as fast as we could to the house he was building next door. My little friend, Trey, next door had a swingset that we played on often. I watched it fly through the air as my mama pulled me towards the big house. We took cover in the big house and it kept us safe from the tornado. And then we moved to a small house in the middle of the woods. My dad was a hard working man and our houses seemed to get bigger as we moved from place to place for my dad's work. He's a warden now. He's been a warden for a while now. I'm grateful for his example of hard work and for a caring mother. I think we did alright for a young family coming out of the bayou. And by alright, I mean wonderful. Who would've thought a backwoods boy like me would've gone so far?

Katie has a very different story. She grew up in the city. A very big city. She was born in San Jose, a city in Northern California, but spent most of her life in the city of San Diego. The eighth largest city in the United States. A place I never thought I would end up. But I did. And I met Katie. That's when I realized..I really like city girls. At least, I really liked this city girl. And I'm glad she really like me too, because I didn't want to let this one go. So I didn't.
